Organized by China Photo Services of Xinhua News Agency and Chinese Culture Development Center, "China: From the 1950s to Today" Photo Exhibition is held in Los Angeles and San Marino in mid-April. The exhibition date and venue are April 16 (12:30 pm to 4:00 pm) at UCLA Charles E. Young Research Library and April 18 (11:00 am to 5:00 pm) at City of San Marino Crowell Public Library. Both exhibitions are free to the public. Opening Ceremony will be held before each exhibition, followed by special presentation on the photos displayed.
"China: From the 1950s to Today" Photo Exhibition includes 130 pictures, documenting the changing lives of ordinary Chinese people in the last six decades. Selected from Xinhua News Agency's huge photo archive, this series is not only an incredible photo collection but also has extraordinary historical values. Many photos are very rare and have just become available to the public for the first time. Chinese Culture Development Center is honored to invite Ms. Xiaobo Chen, chief editor of the Photographic News Department of Xinhua News Agency, and Mr. Yu Liu, director of the International Photos Newsroom of the Photographic News Department of Xinhua News Agency, to attend the Opening Ceremony and make special presentation on this wonderful photo exhibition.
The co-organizers of "China: From the 1950s to Today" Photo Exhibition are UCLA East Asian Library, City of San Marino Crowell Public Library, UCLA Center for Chinese Studies, and UCLA Confucius Institute. This exhibition will move to East Coast and be displayed at Asian Cultural Center NY on April 21, 2012.
